In the basement of the Old Bishop’s palace, Notre-Dame’s square, an archeological site from the 3rd century, reveals remains of the Roman surrounding wall and of the first baptistery of Grenoble (5th and 6th centuries).

At the center of the basement of the Old Bishop’s palace, the baptismal cistern where the first Catholics were baptized.
