It’s not just your ski boots, gloves and salopettes you need to pack for a ski holiday in the spectacular moun-tains around Grenoble. Don’t forget to leave space for the children’s teddy bears, baby bottles and toys!
So when your in-resort baby-sitter (gardien d’enfants!) is looking after them, you get to ski - and discover activities to delight the whole family.
The Isère region, in the heart of the French Alps, has no fewer than five “Famille Plus Mountain” resorts: Les 2 Alpes, Alpe d’Huez and Vaujany, in Oisans; Chamrousse, in the Belledonne range; and Villard de Lans/Corrençon in Vercors.
A warm personal welcome!
Wherever you go, you’ll enjoy the best possible service: at your accommodation, in restaurants and in other tourist establishments. The locals will do everything to make your stay as easy and pleasant as possible. Whatever the size of your family, you can be sure of finding just the right chalet or hotel, along with an impressive choice of childcare facilities and clubs to ensure your children are well looked after and have a great time – while you take advantage of fresh snow!
Fun skiing activities!
You can introduce your children to the slopes too, even at a very young age! Not only do our resorts have plenty of easy slopes, but there are also some fun activity areas the children will love!
Alpe d’Huez, for example, has three slopes with bumps, tunnels and raised circuits. At Villard de Lans/Corrençon, the Hameau des Rambins is a mountain village specially designed for children to learn to ski by playing various games!
And everywhere the ESF (Ecole de Ski Français) ski school instructors are on hand to help you. In Vaujany, your little ones will have a great time at the Kids’ Club (building an igloo, for example, or enjoying snow-shoe walks) combined with half-day skiing lessons. You can even join them by trying your hand at the Babysnow, a machine which was actually developed by an instructor from Les 2 Alpes.
The resorts offer special family discounts so that the whole family can ski together.
Fun for all the family
All the traditional winter activities are available too, such as tobogganing and ice skating.
In bad weather, you can try indoor activities. Some resorts have a whole indoor complex for sports and lei-sure. In Alpe d’Huez, you can try climbing, archery or mini-golf. Teenagers can enjoy the trampolining park at Villard de Lans/Corrençon.
Experience the magic of the mountains in your own way!
